Four major factors for the increase of gear oil temperature of planetary reducer

1. The viscosity of the selected gear oil is too high, causing difficulty in heat dissipation. Because the heat transfer effect of high viscosity oil is worse than that of low viscosity oil, the temperature rise will be more significant than that of low viscosity oil. Therefore, the gear oil with low viscosity should be selected as far as possible when the appropriate load level is selected.

2. The gearbox is overloaded, the oil film is broken, and there is a tendency of wear failure. The friction and wear between gear pairs are large, which causes the temperature of tooth surface to rise. Oil products with appropriate viscosity grade or load grade should be selected according to the load conditions. For example, extreme pressure gear oil and high viscosity oil are good for lubrication, but they also have a negative effect of poor heat dissipation.

3. As the newly installed gear box requires a certain running in time, the equipment has not yet entered the normal wear stage, and the large wear occurs, causing the temperature rise of the planetary reducer tooth surface, which is a necessary stage for the normal operation of the equipment. As a result, the first oil change period of the new gearbox is relatively short, and the washed abrasive is brought out through oil change.

4. Too much oil is added and the oil level is too high, which affects the normal heat dissipation of the planetary reducer gear. Note: Too much or too little oil will affect the heat dissipation effect.
